Description

Opposable Games creates games that connect across platforms and devices in an inventive and compelling way. Our focus is on seizing the potential of second screen and other emerging technologies, designing new gameplay experiences underpinned by our OneTouchConnect connectivity software.

History

Early history

When building our own games or collaborating with partners to enrich a property we combine a deep understanding of player engagement with an award-winning twelve strong creative and technical team. We deliver high quality, character led games in 2D and 3D, earning our reputation among the most exciting studios in the industry.

Connected Games

The company specialises in creating connected games, through local multi-screen experiences such as Salvaged and Clockwork Racers. As well as understanding the technical issues brought up in such games, they also have significant insight into the design challenges presented by mutli-screen gaming.

Games Jams

The team continues to keep their skills in check, participating regularly in games jams, both as a team and as individuals. In 2012, they were awarded second place in the Wellcome Trust "Gamify Your PhD" event alongside scientist Jane Reid with their game "Monsieur Baguette presents… RNA transcription of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae"
