Description
Opposable Games specialises in developing connected games for mobile and social platforms.History
Early historyOpposable Games was forged out of the first ExPlay games jam in late 2011, when a group of talented and experienced games developers from Bristol decided to combine their skills and form a brand new startup games business. The seven-strong team comprises experienced proponents of every game development discipline who have worked for the likes of Sony, Lucasarts, Dreamworks, Eidos, and many more.
Connected GamesThe company specialises in creating connected games, through local multi-screen experiences such as Clockwork Racers. As well as understanding the technical issues brought up in such games, they also have significant insight into the design challenges presented by mutli-screen gaming.
Games JamsThe team continues to keep their skills in check, participating regularly in games jams, both as a team and as individuals. In 2012, they were awarded second place in the Wellcome Trust "Gamify Your PhD" event alongside scientist Jane Reid with their game "Monsieur Baguette presents… RNA transcription of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae"
